Sweden

Even during the financial crisis the Swedish retail sector was growing even though with very small numbers. Due to the uncertainty of the European economy the full recovery is hard to predict but the latest official sales figures are promising. Retailers are still very discriminating regarding locations. The most attractive shopping centers and retail park have almost no vacancy at all, but vacancies in the less attractive centers are still hard to let. The development of Emporia in Malmoe and the extension of the high end Täby Centrum as well as the new Forum Nacka, both outside Stockholm, have attracted new international retailers to Sweden, among them Apple Store, Sephora, Hamleys and Hunkemöller. The opening of Mall of Scandinavia in Solna, north of Stockholm city in late 2015 continue to attract international retailers and severel new brands, like Pull & Bear and Lego Store have established in the 101,000 sq. m new shopping centres. It's thus the largest shopping centre in Scandinavia.
